Our History
Made to Measure Mattresses was started by Michael and Annette Harris in 2000, who have been in the bedding industry for many years, both in manufacturing and retail. Michael was an award winning mattress manufacturer and knew the needs of our bodies to rest during the night, to be able to perform at their peak during our busy day.
They owned their own retail bedding store in Maitland NSW and found a great need for a good reliable innerspring mattress for the travelling community, whom had been putting up with a very uncomfortable foam mattress that is hot and not beneficial for their bodies to rest.
Michael and Annette reached the stage in their lives when retirement beckoned and opted for a sea change in sunny Queensland. They felt a duty of care to keep the business going and what better way than to keep it in the family where long term expertise can be shared. Annette's brother Paul took over the business in 2004 and after growing the business Paul opened his own manufacturing plant at Clontarf, Brisbane, Australia in 2006.
